Surviving With Grace

The times are turbulent and unpredictable. Today you may be up tomorrow you may be down. The local environment in which we live, work, and play in seems to have changed drastically from what we knew it to be just a year ago. It was a time of abudance, and it seems now we have entered into a period of lack.

What do you do when all about you is in turmoil and there appears to be no sign of relief.  With deadlines approaching, creditors calling, family situations going in disarray we are often left with nothing but our foritude to survive and our faith.  It would be easy to forget who and who's we are when in crisis.  However, it is the loving kindness-God's grace that continues to sustain us.

Grace like mercy is a gift given freely.  What if God decided to withhold His grace from us because we behaved negatively or treated people as lesser than we are ourselves.  This same grace we must exude and show to others regardless of how they treat us.  When in the face of tough situations - show grace; when ridiculed for being who you are - show grace.
Surviving with grace requires that we shift our thinking and position.  We can not allow our circumstances make us victums and become nor resemble the environment that we are trying to survive.

Remember to survive with grace:
  • requires a shift in ideology & reposition
  • requires a clear understanding of who you are and whos you are
  • requires you to be faithful and steadfast
  • does not mean you have to be bitter and unhappy.  Take inventory of what you do have and remember who provides for you - where your help comes from.
  • requires you to show grace as well as accept the grace that God has given unto you
  • requires you to alwas remain vigilent and wear the whole armour of God; for our fight is not against other people.
The faithful should expect to be tested-It is God's way of proving us worthy to be called His sons and daughters.  Simultaneously, He(God) is using us as an example to those who do not know him and those with little faith to show just how excellent He is.  In fact some of those around you are not capable of handling some of the tough situations you have handled.  By survivng with grace you become an encouragement to those who thought they could not handle some of the hardships of life. By bearing these trials we become worthy vessels of Christ and fulfill a Christian duty of bringing others to Christ.

There is an old cliche that this life is for the survival of the fittest.  If we are to survive, do so with grace and if we are to be fit let us be fit in Christ - mind, body, and soul.

Donnie McClurkin - Great is Your Mercy

Deja Vu: Unknown You

You speak from a place of
lust and love
heartbreak and heartache
imagry and scenary
that only a unique artist
with unconquered skills that will conquer the hearts of
men everywhere.
That is foreign to me
Yet I've been there before
Let's travel together there someday

You write from a place that surrounds the pain of a soul
so entrenched in love,
entangled by love,
ridden on an emotional roller coaster
so many times you don't know the beginnging from an ending
Where this stops no one knows
why you write these words on your heart
like the writing on the wall
it will take someone else to read it,
just to discover the
love....
detail...
and appreciation of the pen the artist uses.

You sing a melody even the robin can not sing.
When you open your mouth the heavens rejoice,
storms clouds roll away
billows begin to roll.
The robin joins you to sing a new song - your song
that bring sunshine and springtime.
Yes that song is foreign to me too
yet I've heard this song before
let's sing it together someday.

And yes you dance to the beat of a different drum,
that has not graced the tune of the sweetest melody
or intertwined the chords of the greatest symphony.
And yet, still your dance is foreign to me but
I've seen it before, and that beat

has played in my heart a thousands times the sea
I have heard before let's dance together someday.

A New Day

A glimpse of your soul you have given me
The tenderness of your heart I can see
lub, dub your heart beats
quietly and softly
naturally and easily
precisely and courageously
you've opened your heart
allowed me to expand your mind

and a new horizon we formed
I being your sunrise and you being my sunset
simple yet complex
excited yet reserved
intangible yet spiritual
I am you, you are me
happily, freely in love.
